Where do you look when you want a classic lever action with enough style to set it apart but not enough shine to risk spooking game? Easy. Our steel-framed Wildlife Editions in two of America’s longest-lived hunting calibers, .30-30 and .45-70 Government.
These steel-framed models acknowledge a long history of hunting and the lever action’s well-earned place in it for over 150 years. Compared to the Brass Wildlife Editions, these more subdued blued steel versions are lighter in weight for long days on foot through dense brush and high mountain terrain. Steel weighs less than our hardened brass material, and the round barrels used here also reduce weight for a trimmer hunting package that loses nothing in performance in the field. These rifles include a side loading gate and a removable inner tube magazine for convenient loading and safe, quick unloading.
The H009GWL in .30-30 sets off its straight-wristed Fancy American Walnut stocks and a black rubber recoil pad. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope mount, while the 20” blued steel barrel comes equipped with a semi-buckhorn rear sight and brass bead front sight. Sling swivel studs and an in-hammer transfer bar make for convenient and safe carry with the hammer down on a loaded chamber, ready for cocking on a fast shot if you need one, with five rounds standing by in the magazine for follow-ups. The .30-30 version features a buck’s portrait on the right side of the receiver and a leaping buck on the left side. The surrounding area is engraved with American leafy-vine scrollwork and a braided border with 24K gold relief selectively applied for contrast.
The H010GWL in .45-70 is a trim powerhouse with its 18.43” barrel under semi-buckhorn rear and a tall brass bead front sight. A checkered pistol grip stock cut from Fancy American Walnut, sling swivel studs, and a ventilated black rubber recoil pad fill out the package. The blued steel receiver features engravings of a bear on the left side and a moose head on the right side, showcasing two examples of the large game for which this rifle is intended. Gold-accented scroll, line, and braided borders elegantly fill the rest of the space.
Built to bring home the bacon (or whatever your hunt takes you after), these special steel-framed Wildlife Edition rifles are a cut above and a point of pride.
